Dr. Everett Roper is a 1988 graduate of OAA. He holds a PhD in systems engineering, Master of Science degrees in computer science and engineering management and a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering, all from The University of Alabama Huntsville. He also holds an Executive MBA degree from The University of North Alabama.
Dr. Roper is currently a Deputy Product Manager for the US Army where he oversees a $300M missile defense program while supervising over 75 personnel. Dr. Roper is a former Assistant Professor in the Business Department at Oakwood University where he continues to serve as an Adjunct Professor. In addition to these responsibilities, Dr. Roper is a licensed real estate broker and has owned a real estate company for more than 20 years. Dr. Roper has received numerous awards and recognitions including The Black Engineer of Year Award, NASA Administrator’s Fellowship, UNCF-Mellon Faculty Doctoral Fellowship, NSBE Technical Paper Competition Finalist, Defense Acquisition University Research Paper Competition Finalist and recognition as one of the National Society of Black Engineer’s 50 Most Attractive Engineers. He also has numerous publications and conference presentations to his credit. Dr. Roper is married to Dr. Kem Roper. They have two charming girls and reside in Toney, AL. |
